Later in the year, the city comes alive during the Winter festivals which feature the month-long Edinburgh's Christmas and culminates with the world famous Hogmanay celebrations.

The Bankton House Hotel

Set within its own grounds The Bankton House Hotel is picturesque surrounded by nature hidden in its own oasis with foot paths and cycle routes running alongside the Murieston waters and only minutes walking distance from The Livingston South railway which links the cities of Edinburgh and Glasgow, both a 20-30 minute train ride away.

History

Built in the 1800,'s this family manor stood within its privately owed gardens and acres of land a true hidden treasure of Scottish history.
By the mid 1900's this oasis was sadly neglected and left to become derelict until 1980, when an entrepreneur named Sergio Candusso recognised its once lived potential and with this vision restored and converted this derelict building and over grown gardens and grounds by 1983. Brought back to its original state of beauty and a once used historical Scottish dwelling, for the general public to enjoy.

Founded in 1983 by Sergio Candusso and continued in 1984 by his widow Angela This family run hotel of now three generations, is a true country oasis of Scotland that offers accommodation, home cooking, catering for smaller unique weddings and celebrations within settings that truly give you a taste of Scotland's history and beauty.

Bankton House is situated between the M8 (Glasgow to Edinburgh motorway) and the A71 Calder road into Edinburgh.
